For the 2 weeks of the Easter holidays we worked with several groups of children, aged 8-12, from the Longsight area of Manchester. The children created costumes and puppets for an alternative St George's Day parade. We also ran drama workshops to devise and perform a short performance for a garden party which was held after the parade.
All the workshops were held at the Anson Cabin Project - an after schools and holiday club for local children and young people. The children made some fantastic knight and princess costumes, and a huge dragon puppet which led the parade through the streets. Luckily the weather held and it was a beautiful day with a large number of people coming to join in.
