Bacup Library Arts Project

During half term a group of 15 young people aged 8 to 16 years old took advantage of PAYP (Positive Activities for Young People) funding to participate in the Bacup Library Arts Project. The project was organised by Lancashire County Council Youth Workers in Rossendale and Bacup Library Staff.

The aim of the week long project was to produce images, now on display in the library, portraying young people's use of and presence in Bacup Library.

Young people from the group officially opened the display and explained to invited guests including Lili Rushton, Operational Manager for the new Integrated Youth Support Services, how they had worked with photographs, computer  software, layered art work and text to produce the artwork which is exhibited on 5 walls within the library. Library staff are delighted with all the new colourful images.
