For the past 4 years Action Factory have hosted placements from Zwolle University in the Netherlands. In 2006 Laura, Krista and Emmie spent 3 months working at Action Factory on a project looking at how Action Factory can engage with the local South Asian population more successfully. The students consulted local people and got their views on Action Factory and participatory arts and the project resulted in a report with recommendations.
The students chose to come to Action Factory as they believe that 'the arts are key to bringing people together and creating positive change.'
The students were here until the end of April 2006 and loved spending time in Blackburn, Krista said 'Action Factory is a great place, with fantastic people and lots of opportunities for artists and the community.'
Laura also said 'Action Factory is a great place, it feels like family and I have learnt a lot.'
