Working in partnership with the Queen's Park Hospital Ante Natal Community outreach team and the women of Milan Ladies Asian Women's Group, the aim of the project was to create accessible and relevant resources to encourage women to talk about gestational diabetes.

There are many myths, issues and concerns around gestational diabetes and women who have just been diagnosed with or who have a history of the condition often find it dfficult to ask questions or aren't aware of who to ask. The three banners explore significant areas of concern for women, which were identified through the research phase, and will act as a trigger for community health workers to start discussions with women's groups.

The banners were created in sessions with the group using silk painting, applique and embroidery.
