Tent at night at the 'Garden of Delights Festival' |
Action Factory worked with Wigan Leisure ad Culture Trust and Wigan Disability Forum to create an entry for the Garden of Delights Festival. This textiles project worked with 7 disability arts groups from across the borough of Wigan.
The project provided the opportunity for group members to find out about the festival in Manchester. Participants creativity was encouraged and explored using many artforms. Participants tried felting, creative writing, mask making, printmaking, voice recording, photography, collage, silk painting and explored themes such as the environment, personal likes and dislikes, textures and stories. The project was a chance to let people know about their groups and to shout about what they do.
The tent structure that was created for the event is a multi sensory experience with sounds and smells as well as the colours and textures of the artwork.
