Working in partnership with Housing % for Art in Bolton, Friends of Sunnyside Park and Bolton M.B.C Play Department a creative approach to consultancy engaged hundreds of people in the neighbourhood, generating many ideas and establishing a vision for the future for this valuable local amenity. The material from the consultancy informed the creative work of Bolton M.B.C Parks Department and several local schools and community groups created original work for the main gates, litter bins, play fence area, mosaic benching, seating and tables.

Use of the park has increased significantly whilst anti social behaviour has declined. Active involvement in the development of the improvements has secured a strong sense of pride. In the words of one resident 'it's put the smile back on the face of visitors, it's an exciting place to come.'
