Action Factory has been working with the community around the Canalside Community Centre over an extended period of time.  There has been activities in school holidays and collaboration with older members of the population.

The area has been chronicled in a number of different ways. Two publications have been produced detailing the history of the area and also that of the Ancient Order of Foresters Friendly Society.

A mosaic inspired by the Rope Works, which was situated near the canal in past times, has been created and installed on the tow path near the community centre.

Heritage panels and textile banners have been created with the help and inspiration of the local community.

The final piece of work associated with this project is the mosaic which recalls the Odeon Cinema and memories associated with that time. This piece will be installed during April 2011.

A celebration of the relationships, friendships and the project will take place on 7th May, 2pm at the Canalside Community Centre on Lindsay Street in Burnley.
