Peanut park Mosaic

The mosaic is situated in Peanut Park in Oldham and is part of the DAWN Arts regeneration project. The aim of the project was to design and create a large floor mosaic for the park, which was being completely renovated. We worked with about 40 young people in St John's Youth Centre over a period of 3 days. The theme for the design was regeneration so we asked the group to look at places in the area which are now, or have been in the past, important to the local community. We also used clay sculpture to create pieces for the mosaic.
