In 2009, Action Factory was fortunate to benefit from the initiative run by Blackburn Art Gallery and Museum which brought Asian contemporary art to Blackburn and Darwen.
We hosted 2 artist residencies ...
Alwin Reamillo originally from the Philippines and now resident in Australia.
Mok Buakaow originally from Thailand and now resident in the USA.
- Alwin worked with overhead projectors, history, photocopied images and different mediums and textures to create a shadow play event,
- Mok brought to life one of her nong clay figures which she took around Blackburn and Darwen where it interacted with the landscape and the people.
The pictures above can only give a flavour of their work
There is an exhibition at Blackburn Art Gallery celebrating the plAAy initiative until the end of September 2009.
